Indonesia offers people over the age of 60 a retirement permit. You will be allowed a 1-year stay with 5 extensions, and at the end of the 5th year, you will be eligible for a permanent stay (KITAP) in Indonesia. Before you apply for a retirement visa in Indonesia, you must know that you will need to be able to purchase or rent a house in an authorized tourist area in Bali with a minimum spend of US$35,000 or US$500/month, respectively. You will also be required to hire a driver and a housekeeper; this is to boost the economy of the area you will be retiring in. On top of that, you will be required to show proof that you have enough funds or a monthly pension of US$3,000/month to sustain your living expenses while you are in Bali.
